This image belongs to a set I created as part of my final major project in university, the photographs have been inspired by the work of Paul Caponigro, who refers to himself as trying “to express and make visible the forces moving in and through nature” and of gaining contact “with the greater dimension- the landscape behind the landscape”, and the abstract works of Susan Derges.
The images reflect the invisible unseen forces as explored by Caponigro that guide every element of life, the subjects of the images are the numerous objects I found washed up on the shore at Aber Llong these objects include both natural and man made detritus. I wanted the subjects of the images to remain completely mysterious to the viewer forcing them to rely on their emotive response and imaginations when reading the images.
